God’s Power in Your Life

Part Two: “You Have Power – It’s a Fact!” God’s Power in Your Life

“And this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken! Isaiah 59:21 (NLT)

How much time to you spend thinking about the power within you to accomplish whatever you are led by God to do – from the most spiritual desire and goal, to the most simple but desired mark of being organized, or losing weight, or getting in shape, or strengthening your skills? If you spend time thinking about any of this, you probably spend more time thinking about the power you seem to lack to make changes you desire. If that were true, you probably fall in with the majority. But that would be such a waste of the incredible life God has for you.

Some people would laugh at that. “The incredible life God has for me, yea right!” “My life couldn’t be more ordinary and meaningless.” “My life couldn’t be more aimless and mundane.” “My life couldn’t be more out of control with me feeling powerless to change it.” If you think any of these things, I understand why. I have been there. I occasionally have times where I might feel tempted to feel like this myself. But, if I did, it would be a waste of the life God prepared for me and the plan He desires for me to walk in.

Your inward power can be strengthened just by knowing how God has felt about you from the beginning. Read this and after you do, tell me if you really believe God created you to experience an ordinary, meaningless, aimless, and mundane, out of control life?

Psalm 139:14-18 (NLT) “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up in the morning, you are still with me! “

Still think you were meant to be ordinary and powerless? Continue reading.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

Just by understanding God’s love for you and how He has felt about you from the beginning and what He has wanted for you begins to increase your strength! Can you feel it? That strength and God-given power by its nature will draw you to Him. That is what it was designed to do as we see in Jeremiah 29:13-14. “If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes…”

You see – when you find out what God wants for you – what He intended for you – and that He is not out to condemn you but to strengthen you to life this life empowered by Him to become a world changer, your life begins to take new shape. Strength from God comes to your life. How do you open the door to this strength so that it continues to come and so that you feel and see it begin to change you?

What is the first secret to tapping into the power and then plan of God for this significant life? It’s putting these truths in your mouth! That is a God secret He wants you to know! It’s powerful. It’s fun. And it’s the will of God. Your sincere faith in Jesus Christ qualifies your relationship with God and the right to live in covenant relationship with Him. Jesus forgave all your sins, draped you in a white robe of righteousness, and called you a son of God. He then revealed that you were in covenant relationship with Him. So you have the right to the power and blessings of this covenant.

So now, knowing that, your first step is to get over whether you feel qualified to be blessed by God. Just know that He wants to strengthen you by His power and bless you. It will begin by putting His Word in your mouth!

God spoke through Isaiah to help us take hold of this powerful truth saying, “And this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken! Isaiah 59:21 (NLT)

Begin now by getting in front of a mirror and saying, “Thank you Lord. You have made me wonderfully complex! Your workmanship concerning me is marvelous and I now know it. You watched me as I was being formed and prepared my days and your plan for my life before I ever lived one day. It’s time I started living by your strength and power instead of mine own. I thank you for helping me to grow in your strength and power every day. I thank you your thoughts about me are kind and empowering and your plan and desire for me even more precious. I thank you that you are with me now and forever. These are your words and I have and will continue to put them in my mouth and on my lips untill they instinctively flow from my heart. Thank you for Jesus and making all this available to me through His love and His sacrifice for me. I am strengthened in you today. In Jesus name Amen!”

These are God’s Words about you. Put them in your mouth. Multiple times each day until they begin to sink in. You will begin to experience a new level of the power of God. And it will thrill your heart! More tomorrow…
