Stir Each Other Up! By Renee Burt

Stir Each Other Up! By Renee Burt

Recently, there was a group of people going out from our church to share their faith and pray with people at nursing homes, hospitals, and some other locations. A friend of mine called me as she was driving to church to be a part of group. This was her first time doing something like this, so she was really nervous. And on top of that, it was cold and rainy out…which made it seem like a less than ideal day to go. Now, seeing the rain and hearing the anxiousness in her voice, it would have so easy and natural for me to encourage her to just do it another time. I mean, I wanted her to have a good experience, right? Well, that sounds all good, but had I done that, I would have discouraged her from what turned out to be an awesome and life-changing experience. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to my own “mother hen” thinking, but instead remembered what God says in today’s verse. It’s not our job to worry about how someone else will do something for the Lord, or whether or not we think it’ll turn out okay…our job is just to encourage them to do what God is telling them to do! God will take care of all the details. He doesn’t need our help with that part…our part is just to encourage them to “go for it!” So what is God telling you to do? I’m here to tell YOU to “go for it” today…and watch God use you in ways you never imagined He could!

Hebrews 10:24 AMP ~ And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities.

See “FIREPROOF” the movie

This week, I was privileged to watch the Pre-screening of an upcoming movie called “Fireproof.” It was made by the church that made the movie “Facing the Giants,” another tremendous movie everyone should rent or buy and watch.

“Fireproof” is a fabulous movie about marriage and salvation. It has a great story line, great humor (you’ll be laughing throughout the movie,) and it is so realistic and relevant that it awed me. I consider the movie a gift to the body of Christ and a great outreach opportunity to unchurched Christians and the unsaved. There may be an upcoming prescreening in your area so check it out and see. This movie will is a great tool for marriage ministries within your church. There will be a book released that is a marriage tool to help at the same time as the release of the movie. Please encourage your Pastor to get a group from church together and go on the first weekend. That is how they rate the success of movies and if this one succeeds greatly, it will lead to more! Check it out!

Bless you,
Pastor Tim
