Fresh Manna
by Pastor Tim Burt
As I got out of bed this morning, instantly I could see this person struggling with something in their life – something that they have been thinking about and wanting to get victory over for years. It was like a short flash but I could see it, and then a verse came to mind. Romans 8:11 (NLT) “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.” As I saw that verse in my heart, the Lord began to speak to me to speak to that person. That person may be you! Here are the thoughts that I believe were from the Lord that may be speaking to you today!
The enemy of your soul is a deceiver and he has worked to deceive you in this way; you have accepted something you are unhappy with yourself about as “unchangeable.” “I’ll never be able to do this.” This is the kind of thing the deceiver says. He works to convince you that setbacks or failures have now become your permanent impossibilities. The disappointment and discouragement from not overcoming has now become an acceptance on your part. But it should not be that way. You have forgotten who you are in Me! You know Me and you love Me. There is no doubt in your mind about that. But, you have forgotten the power of Me within you! So today I will remind you and then I want you to throw out this thinking of “I can’t,” and replace it with “I will!”
When you accepted Jesus as Savior, you received the Spirit of God – the Spirit of Me. As this truth of scripture says, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11 (NLT) It is my Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead that gives you life. It is my Spirit that takes your carnal thinking mind and natural dying body and brings supernatural life and power to it. That power is the power to know and discern truth and to agree with and execute my will for your life. It is the inward power you desire and need to be able to accomplish my will. It is My power to overcome the weakness of your flesh so that you can make right choices and receive your victory! So, YOU CAN DO THIS! Let those words become your words. Be weary no more! Be defeated no more! Agree with my word and put my words in your mouth. Let them stir the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead that resides within you to a life of power and victory. Today open your heart and begin to walk in this new truth and for you, it will become a new day.
Let these words become yours – as a prayer and profession of your faith. As you do, they will infuse you with a freshness of new determination that will lead you to the first of many victories in your life. Let these words become yours.
“Heavenly Father, today I acknowledge and thank you that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is alive within me. That same power that gave Jesus resurrection life is alive within me. I thank you today that the Spirit of God has raised me from these lies of defeat. My eyes have been opened and my strength renewed. I can align my life, my thoughts, and my body with your word. I do have the strength to overcome. I will begin now to experience that power working in my life, and I will not let words of defeat come out my mouth. I can do this and for your glory, I will. Thank you for that same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, breathing new life into my life today and every day ahead – in Jesus name I pray.”
If this was for you, pray this and say this as often as you need to, to remind yourself of what God has spoken to your heart today.
As my day began today, I saw a sad person who felt defeated in an area of their life – settled into the fact they would always be that way. I now see this person in my heart looking like a completely new person in just months from now – a person who looks new and alive to the world! Congratulations in advance! I can’t wait to hear all about it!
2 Cor. 5:17 (NIV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
