Strengthening Your Faith!

The world is filled with many geniuses. If these geniuses don’t know Jesus for who He is, the Savior of the world, then there are things that we know that they don’t. The geniuses come up with new science, new inventions, new theories, and new discoveries that are exciting and fascinating. But compared to all that God knows and has created, they are less than crude. We see pins and plates and screws and parts replacing broken down parts of the human body. Yet the human body is so miraculously and intricately created, that science could’t possible duplicate it. From nature, to astrology, to science, to technology, the best efforts of man and science are crude, ever-changing, and deeply immature in their understanding of the mysteries of all that God has created.

Romans 1:20 NLT so excellently articulates this truth saying, “From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.” In this, God is saying that the gloriousness of His creation reveals Him. To not see His glory in creation is the unmasking of one’s pride and ignorance. And that is what science without acknowledgement of God is—pride and ignorance.

The enemy of our soul uses times of adversity to cause us to doubt God’s love and motivation behind the hardships we see or experience, and to question His methods. For Job, it was during a time of hardship, weakness, and discouragement, that he, for the first time, began to question God’s love and everything He believed and trusted regarding Him—and his wife and friends were contributors to it. God spoke firmly to Job to jar him out of wrong thinking. God brought Job back to the place of reverence and trust by reminding Him that man is man and that He alone is God.

Job 38:1-15 says, “Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind: “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Do you know how its dimensions were determined and who did the surveying? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? “Who defined the boundaries of the sea as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and thick darkness? For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘Thus far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’ “Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the east?”

The Lord said much more than this that you can read in Job chapter 38, but the point I want to make is that the wisdom of man in his best day looks ridiculous to the wisdom of Almighty God—the one who is your Heavenly Father and who loves you so much that He sent Jesus as a gift to you as your Redeemer and helper.

Reading and meditating on the magnificence of God should elevate your faith in Him. Believe that your present crisis carries no impossibilities or even struggle of effort for the one you declare you love and worship. Instead of being burdened with worry and cares, take David’s advice and do what He did. “Publish His glorious deeds… Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.” (Psalm 96:3 NLT) Think back to what God has done in your life. Retell the testimonies to others. Take time to talk with, thank, and worship Him for those things. Not only does it glorify God, it builds your faith even as you think and speak of them. Go back and read the miracles of Jesus and all He did. Remember His words, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23 (NKJV)

Remember that God is not a respecter of persons. Meditate on his omnipotence and as you do, faith will rise in your heart. You will have faith and again see God do great things in your life!

Psalm 27:13 NKJV   “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

    • As would so many of us! But as we reflect on God’s greatness and the magnitude of His love for us, I realize how foolish I would be to not trust the greatest love ever given.

If Fresh Manna is a blessing to you, please let me know. Thank you.
