You Always Have A Helper Named God!

It is so exciting to know that God works behind the scenes and in the details of our lives. I recently sought the Lord for help in something, and quickly saw the evidence of that help. I praise Him for His faithfulness!

God works behind the scenes and in the details of my life. He does in yours also, even if you don’t see it! Psalm 54:4 NKJV says, “Behold, God is my helper…” Hebrews 13:6 NIV says, “So we say with confidence,’The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?'” If you need His help―and of course you do, He can be found if you will take the time to sincerely seek Him through His Word and through prayer. Jeremiah 29:14 NLT confirms this truth and promise saying, “I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes…” This was originally written to the Israel, but this promise now reaches into our lives through Jesus Christ!

Why would God want to be your helper? He would because He loves you with the love of a father and because the moment you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He became your Heavenly Father. Jesus taught us that our Heavenly Father knows and cares about the details of our life saying, Matthew 6:31-33 (NLT) “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.”

A while back, a woman came to me to ask for prayer about a situation in her workplace. Her two managers and her boss were all verbally abusing her and physically mocking and assaulting her—because she was a Christian and they were atheist. They knew she was a Christians because she worked so incredibly hard when most of the other workers just tried to skate through their day. They knew she was a Christian because she didn’t engage in dirty jokes or sexual conversations or making fun of co-workers. She was polite and respectful and worked hard. She simply reflected Jesus in her love walk and work ethic. She didn’t wear her faith on her sleeve but thanked God openly for the good in her life. I knew this woman well and knew this was the case.

One Sunday she walked up to me at church in tears not knowing what to do. It made me so mad I wanted to go over and fix the problem myself. That would have been inappropriate and stupid. It was not my place to do so. But God is her helper and I knew would help her! I took her to a verse in 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3. “And pray that we may be DELIVERED from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.” The Apostle Paul himself asked for prayer to be delivered from malicious people who were persecuting him just because of his faith.

The Word of God was our basis for our faith and authority in prayer. This is what we prayed for her! “Heavenly Father, I thank you for delivering her from wicked men and women in her offices that hate her just because she loves and lives for you. Her life is a living epistle and these men and women are being used of Satan to stop her witness in this place and drive her out. I thank you for delivering her Lord. Please either change the hearts of these evil people, or move them out, or promote her into a place of blessing, in Jesus name.”  I then asked her to thank the Lord every day for delivering her from these people and circumstances.

She had never reported a thing to anyone. She just continued to pray. As the weeks passed, she would share how things were changing in her office. Her boss and two managers were all fired independently for reasons not related to her. Other cruel people were let go. She soon had a new boss who was also Christian. She found new favor in the office. Then one weekend she told me she just won two awards in the same month. She won Employee of the Month and Employee of the year.

This didn’t happen overnight but things did change. The Word of God is the source of walking in authority and power that does bring God’s will to pass in our lives. Seek to know it. Learn to pray it. Be patient for God to work. He is your helper and out of His love for you, He works in the details of your life!

Amos 5:14 (NLT) “Do what is good and run from evil so that you may live! Then the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies will be your helper, just as you have
claimed.”
