You Say – God Says
(Author Unknown)

One day two workers, Sam and Pete were in their break-room on their break drinking coffee.  Sam was telling Pete of a troubled situation he was dealing with calling his situation impossible.  Peter replied to Sam saying, This may be impossible to you but it’s not with God.  Sam countered, Pete, you often say things like that quoting Bible verses, but they are just words and don’t help anything! Pete replied, Sam these are more than quotes from a book. These words are the inspired word and promises from God to those who would believe. So let me ask you? Should I believe what God has had written to us and hold on to my hope, or should I see them as simply words on paper that may sound nice but mean nothing and leave me without hope? They met later for lunch and went through each of the Bible promises that Peter had been quoting to Sam.  When they were done, Sam confessed that he has been inspired, encouraged in his faith, and decided he was going to believe like Pete.  Here are those words that encouraged them both!

You say: “It’s impossible” God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)

You say: “I’m too tired” God says: I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28-30)

You say: “Nobody really loves me”
God says: I love you  (John 3:16 and John 3:34)

You say: “I can’t go on”
God says: My grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9 and Psalm 91:15)

You say: “I can’t figure things out”
God says: I will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6)

You say: “I can’t do it”
God says: You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13)

You say: “I’m not able”
God says: I am able  (2 Corinthians 9:8)

You say: “It’s not worth it”
God says: It will be worth it (Romans 8:28)

You say: “I can’t forgive myself”
God says: I Forgive you (I John 1:9 and Romans 8:1)

You say: “I can’t manage”
God says: I will supply all your needs  (Philippians 4:19)

You say: “I’m afraid”
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7)

You say: “I’m always worried and frustrated”
God says: Cast all your cares on Me (I Peter 5:7)

You say: “I’m not smart enough”
God says: I give you wisdom (I Corinthians 1:30)

You say: “I feel all alone”
God says: I will never leave you or forsake you  (Hebrews 13:5)

In the days of Jesus, there were many who heard Him and knew His words were truth and promise, and so they believed. And there were others who heard but skeptically mocked Jesus and His disciples. His words did them no good.  Which one are you?

Hebrews 4:2 (NIV) “For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.”
