Fresh Manna

Like me, I’m sure there are people who you know and love who have been battered about by circumstances of life…whether it be in their relationships, or in their finances, or in their health. Maybe it’s you who has felt like life’s storms are threatening to sink your ship.

I was thinking back to our last vacation in Mexico. Although it was sunny most of the time, the winds battered us relentlessly day after day. And the ocean was surging with huge churning, foaming, ship-sinking waves. It felt like the wind and waves were just having their way with us, and there was nothing we could do to stop it! And that’s how so many people feel when they’re being battered by life. Maybe that’s how you’ve been feeling. But there is something you can do, according to God’s Word!
It’s to cry out to the Lord for help, and He promises He’ll calm the storm, still the waves and save us from the circumstances that are trying to sink us. You might have lost your way in the “storm” you’re in…but He hasn’t lost His way or His ability to bring you “safely into harbor!” So what are you waiting for? Join your voice with mine, crying out for His help, and He’ll still the storms in our lives!

Psalm 107:28-30 NLT ~ “LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper and stilled the waves. What a blessing was that stillness as he brought them safely into harbor!
