Your Questions Will Be Answered!! In the Meantime – Relax

Psa 25:8-10 T(LB) “The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to all who go astray; He will teach the ways that are right and best to those who humbly turn to Him. And when we obey Him, every path He guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and his truth.”

This doesn’t happen often but today was one of those days that from the moment I woke up, the Lord was speaking to me about a verse. I had questions I needed Him to answer about it. Years ago, I would be driven for answers trying to come up with them on my own. The Lord taught me years ago, when I have questions that only He can answer – ask Him, pray about them, but then learn to relax, put them on a shelf, and trust Him for the answer in His timing.

Any teacher will teach you that questions are a good thing and a very fundamental part of learning. We all have questions. But, questions can become like a curse when they drive us to feelings of anxiety and confusion – especially when we can’t find answers. Life is full of questions and many people have no idea of where to look for answers. We can rejoice. We

know exactly where to look. More than that, we have the author and creator of all things as the one who answers them. John 14:26 says, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things…”

Jesus knew the day would come when He would leave this earth and ascend back to Heaven. He was foretelling His disciples about it so they would be prepared. He wanted them and us to know that He would not abandon us. They had been with Him for three years. For three years they could ask Him questions that He would answer. What a wonderful and powerful thing! He didn’t want them to think they were going to lose that. To the contrary, what they had was going to become better. As long as Jesus was in a human body on the earth, they could only ask questions one at time and at certain and appropriate times. Upon returning to Heaven, Jesus would send His Holy Spirit who would come and live in each and every believer. Jesus said, that the Holy Spirit would be the Counselor and the teacher of ALL THINGS.

You and I have that available today. It is critical though, to understand that just as you can’t teach a toddler trigonometry, chemistry or sex, you can’t learn all spiritual truths at once. The Holy Spirit teaches us and gives us answers that are built upon truth after truth – building blocks of truth. As adults we have questions that we want answers to now. But like a child, there are things that God has to teach us about Himself and His ways that are at the foundational level. They become the building blocks which deeper truths are build upon.

Isaiah 28:9-10 says it like this, “Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand he message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little.”

God cares about your questions and will answer them. You have to ask Him in prayer and then commit by faith to hearing from Him. The primary way He will answer them is through His Word. He knows how to lead you into the Word. He does speak to us in other ways. Ephesians 4: 11-12 also tells us that “the Lord uses Apostles; and some, Prophets; and some, Evangelists; and some, Pastors and Teachers; for the maturing of the saints, that they may learn to do God’s work and consequently edify and build up the body of Christ.” Of these offices of ministry, He primarily uses Pastors and Teachers. They will help expound on God’s Word so that we can learn and grow. He’ll also use people that are learned in the Word of God.

God is the primary teacher and one reason He put His Holy Spirit within you is to help you with questions. Just don’t fret. Put them before God. Ask Him to teach you. For many of your questions, you will be amazed at how quickly God answers them. Others that don’t seem to get answered right away put on a shelf. He probably has foundational things to teach and show you before you would understand the answer.

The bottom line, He wants you to have answers. As today’s Fresh Manna says, “The Lord is good and glad to teach the proper path to all who go astray; He will teach the ways that are right and best to those who humbly turn to Him. And when we obey Him, every path He guides us on is fragrant with His loving-kindness and His truth.” With the Holy Spirit as your personal instructor, He’ll help you understand, grow in, and mature in God’s Truth. With that, you will be used of God to help others to know of and grow in His love.

Don’t pass up opportunities to share what you know. Ask God about the rest! Then trust Him to reveal what you don’t understand. He will – in His timing!

In His Love,
