God’s Plan: Defeating Satan! Part One

All evil originates from Satan. And there are two things that he stays focused on in order to be successful in his evil over mankind. Do you want to know what those two things are? You should want to because God doesn’t want us ignorant of how Satan works as we see in 2 Corinthians 2:11 (NLT2) “…so that Satan will not outsmart us… we are familiar with his evil schemes.”

His original name was Lucifer and God created him the most beautiful of all creatures. He was created to serve God, but fell to His own pride—this happening before man was ever created. He tried to exalt himself above God and the rest is history. (You can read more about it in Isaiah chapter 14). Something the majority of all people don’t know is that Hell was not created for fallen man because of his sins. Hell was created for Satan and will be his future eternity for rebelling against God. That was never to be our eternity. God created us in His image. Satan knowing His eternity, hates God. And because He hates God, He hates any and everything God has ever created. Since his rebellion, he has been out to destroy mankind and all of God’s creation since. He has learned that one of the ways to ruin and destroy human lives is to pit people against each other. As you can see, it works well. That is why God teaches us in Ephesians 6:12 that our fight isn’t with each other but against Satan.

Satan’s first objective is to destroy people’s lives in any way he can. The second thing he is focused on and something that terrifies him is his impending and eternal doom! He knows his destiny is published for all mankind to see. That’s one reason he doesn’t want people reading the Bible. He knows his time is coming. He is terrified of it. Revelations 20:10 TLB reveals it saying, “Then the devil who had betrayed them will again be thrown into the Lake of Fire burning with sulphur where the Creature and False Prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Satan will soon be tormented day and night forever. Hell was created for Satan and the fallen angels—those that followed his rebellion against God. Hell wasn’t created for man. Earth, Heaven, and eternal fellowship with God was His intended plan. Freedom to choose what is right is what comes with God’s love. He gave us free will hoping we’d recognize and choose His love over Satan’s evil. But because God gave man free will,  people can follow Satan to Hell by his choosing. God doesn’t send us there. Every human being chooses to follow God or not. If not, they’ve followed Satan, and Satan’t destiny becomes theirs. Jesus died so that every human being could believe in Him, receive Him as Lord and Savior, have their sins washed away, and receive eternal life with Him forever!

This might be a shock to you but, God knew man would fail and sin, even before He created this world and mankind.  You might think, Then why did God go ahead with this plan?  He did because He could not create mankind without give us His love and free will would be a part of that love. Meaning, that there could be no plan to create man unless He let us fail and make better choices with the first one being to receive the gift of His son Jesus. It was always His plan to reveal Himself to us and offer redemption. We see this in Ephesians 1:4-6 (NLT2) “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.  So we praise God for the glorious grace He has poured out on us who belong to His dear Son.”

So Pastor Tim, you said that we should know that has two things he stays focused on, First to destroy us and God’s creation, and second that is time is limited before the fury of Hell becomes his eternity.  Now that we know those two things, what should we do with it?

I’ll tell you tomorrow, but if you know Jesus today, rejoice because that means that the plan that God has had from the beginning to adopt you into His family has already happened. The rest I’ll tell you in the next post which will help you to know how to defeat the one who is trying to destroy you!

In His Love,
