Fresh Manna

I know this is the place I normally write Fresh Manna for you, but today, I just wanted to update you with Renee and my efforts to touch the world with Fresh Manna through Tim & Renee Burt Ministries. You can read more if you care to on our update page.

Update: March 2017. It’s been a while since our last update, so here it is. In January, through Fresh Manna and Twitter, our numbers peaked at our highest levels ever for reaching people. Literally millions of people each day. Fresh Manna Daily Devotions has reached 213 countries so far! I’ve always understood how my devotions would touch people’s hearts, but would have never believed that writing a tweet of 140 characters (letters, punctuation, spaces combined equaling about a sentence and a half in length) could impact people so powerfully. It has catapulted my writing efforts beyond my wildest imagination. When I started writing, 17 years ago, I would have never imagined God would use us in this way. But by being obedient to write 4 times a week, and tweeting daily, this is our current result. I have been able to lead people to the Lord, watch them get delivered from pornography, drugs, and other forms of bondage. And I’ve watched people learn God’s Word and grow in the Lord. They write me to tell me! I hope you are one of those people! So I am continuing to write my devotions and tweets to reach the world – and it is happening to the glory of God! If you’ve ever benefited from all this, I pray you’ll consider helping us!

Renee is soon taking a group of women to Peru to do missions work in the church, orphanage, and amongst the Peruvian people. This will be her second trip there in the past eight months. They always have a powerful impact and feel their lives are changed as much as the ones they are helping!

My daughter, her husband and their two daughters are missionaries in Peru and have a powerful influence in Peru. You can learn more about them here: The G’s Overseas. It’s been a very difficult time for them recently. Lima, Peru is one of the largest cities (in population) in the world and a developing third world country. It is a very dry, dusty, desert city with over 8 million people. The average rainfall is 0.3 inches of rain per year – almost none! They have had huge rainfalls in the past week and it’s caused mudslides around the country. People and their homes have been swept away. Water has been shut off. Electricity has been shut off for periods of time, and the flooding has caused unimaginable problems. Getting clean drinking water is a current challenge. This is a very short video to give you an idea. We are sending down money and some supplies shortly to help. This is our first area of outreach for Tim and Renee Burt Ministries beyond reaching people with the gospel through Fresh Manna.

I would like to remind you that Renee and I take zero income from the funds that come in. It all goes to the work of the ministry so you can feel great about your donations doing a good work. Because of what is going on in Peru, in the orphanage, and in our efforts to spread the gospel through Fresh Manna and Twitter, we hope you will consider our efforts good soil for your donations to reap a harvest.
