Be Inspired and Challenged by Great Faith!

Do you like to be inspired? I do!  I love to be inspired by amazing things other people accomplish. I love to hear their stories. Inspiration is one of the great motivators of life! We all need it! Inspiration imparts hope, and fuels dream and vision. It’s why I love to spend time in God’s Word reading over and over again about those who were true pillars of faith. They inspire me to live a significant life of serving God—trusting Him every step of the way!

When you read about King David, you can’t help but think of his great faith and adventurous life in God. He passionately loved and learned of God from the time he was a boy. He studied what was taught about God by those that preceded him. He learned what Moses had learned and said, “O Lord GOD, You have begun to show your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds?” (Deuteronomy 3:24 NKJV)

David learned this and believed it. Consequently, he walked out things that God had led him to do with great faith and trust in Him! He believed that God would always be there to direct, guide, instruct, and bless him in that which he put his hand to for the Lord. Surely David had his emotional moments of despair, but he would always let God’s Word rise up in his heart to replace despair with faith and trust!

People that passionately love God like David did often become people who accomplish great and mighty things in the earth. 2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV says, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself mighty on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” The things God does through a person of great faith may be invisible to those that don’t know about or care for God, but God notices and does not forget them! Hebrews 6:10 NIV says, “God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.”

David wanted to accomplish much for the Lord and he did. Yet even at the end of his life, Satan still opposed him trying to stir up trouble. He was stirring up trouble by trying to put someone on the throne of Israel other than his son Solomon. David didn’t panic. Out of the abundance of his heart, these words spilled forth,  “…As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of every trouble…” 1 Kings 1:29

What powerful and faith-filled words those are to spill forth from the mouth of someone. Those are the words of someone who has experienced God’s help first hand. David spoke these words by faith before He knew the Lord from a lifetime of experiencing His faithfulness personally. He had his entire life to look back on. He see how God had delivered him from trouble time and time again. He could look back on his life and say, “The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him.” (Psalm 37:39-40)  He would also say “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His descendants begging bread.” (Psalms 37:25 NKJV )

Satan will always attack us hoping to create despair in our life, but God is always ready to inspire our hearts through the faith of those that have preceded us. Despair will try to come to your life, again and again. What will you do in those moments? God’s pillars—those of great faith who have gone before us, are there to inspire us and lift us out of that despair as we meditate on what He did for them. What He did for them, He will do for those who have faith and trust Him. That kind of faith and trust inspires and leads us into significant and purposed-filled lives! And just may turn our life into a life that inspires others! Glory to God!

Jeremiah 32:38 & 40 (NIV) “They will be my people, and I will be their God… I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear (reverence) me, so that they will never turn away from Me.”
