Faith is the Bridge to Miracles and the Impossible

Life becomes so rich in God when we see His words as words of life and promise from His heart to ours. That was His intention! To the believer in Jesus, they also become His inheritance as a gift from God.

The Bible says that when you look at God’s word through the eyes of faith, and you believe that what it says is what it means, it becomes a powerful mind-transforming, life-changing force.  That is what it’s saying in Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
That is what Jesus was saying to the man whose son was possessed by demons in Mark 9:23 (NKJV). “Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” But, this isn’t a formula for turning God into a genie. God is not moved by our whims, whining, and complaining. He is moved by mercy and our faith! Reading God’s word through the eyes of faith, and then acting upon His word because we believe it, is what transforms our heart and empowers our prayers! Over time, it shapes our heart and character so that we can respond to God in faith like many of the heroes of faith had—Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Daniel, Ester, Mary, Gideon, Joshua, Caleb, His disciples and so many more.

Faith matters! You’ll see in Hebrews 4:2 (NIV) that it does! “For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.” This is saying that God’s word was life-changing to some and of no benefit to others! Do you want it to be a benefit to you?

God’s promises are expressed throughout the Bible. If you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal them to you as you read, you will see them almost every time you read. As you do, remember that God responds to our faith. That is why Hebrews 11:6 CNB says to us, “So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that there is a God and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.” And Hebrews 11:1 TLB gives us a review of what faith is supposed to accomplish saying, “What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.”

As each of us read through the Bible, we read with different challenges and obstacles at work in our lives. We have a diversity of needs and requests for help from God. Therefore God is going to speak the promise to your heart that encourages and builds your faith and expectation. As you grow in your faith, your faith in His promises will become more real than any circumstance you currently face. You will learn to stand strong in faith in His promise to you in the face of circumstances.

Noah was mocked for over 70 years while building an Ark. It had never even rained in the earth yet. People thought He was crazy. Moses’ faith led all the Israelites out of Egypt to the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army chasing after them. Jesus told Peter to go fish to get tax money from the mouth of a fish. Only weird faith people put themselves in this position because THEY DO believe God. Eventually the day came when Noah saw the rain come. Moses saw the Red Sea part. Peter got the money from the mouth of a fish.

It’s critical to know that God wants good for you. He wants you to believe in His promises and have an unmovable expectation that He will help you and lead you through any situation. And you cannot judge that by how negative circumstances look in the moment. Sometimes we see quick answers to prayer, and sometimes miracles. Other times, we can only judge it in hindsight, looking back to see how God answered our prayers over time. God is not just interested in that moment of your life, but in your entire life’s journey and blessing, and in the big picture of His plan. God does things beyond what we can ask or think. And so, be sure to live by faith every moment of every day! Having strong faith in His word and promises will give you an exciting and adventurous life in God. It is the bridge to miracles and the impossible becoming possible in your life.

Ephesians 3:20 (TLB) “Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.”

  1. Thank you for your excellent devotional Pastor Tim, I believe that faith in God changes everything, I remember the late Gypsy William Lee saying how he had an expectant faith and I often think about this and use these words myself! (Gypsy William Lee came to Kensington Temple originally for one month, for a month of miracles, he ended up staying over two years! We saw the miraculous and people being born again many many times, simple faith!)

As you mentioned about Noah, people must have thought he was mad, but he’d done what God had told him, amazing, but not always easy!

I believe that when we have a heart of faith, God sees this and gives us the opportunity to potentially move mountains, I definitely choose Faith!

    • Thank you Roy! I agree with you! And I always think of the words…”And without faith, it’s impossible to please God…” I choose faith also!
      God bless you!
