Fresh Mannaby Pastor Tim BurtReceiving Jesus Christ as Your Lord is what makes you a part of the church of Jesus Christ. There is no greater love than the love that Jesus has for the church. The Bible says that Jesus is the head of the church and that you have become a part of His body! And to understand just how much He loves us―the church, he compares His love for her to the relationship of a man and woman at marriage in Ephesians 5:25-27 (NKJV) "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish."

Christians are the church, and God loves when we assemble together because He can move in our midst and, in a special way, in our hearts through the ministry of the word and the fellowship of His people when we do. And as the world gets darker through sin and confusion, it becomes even more critical to come together to be taught, matured, prayed for, healed, and refreshed in Him! We see that in Hebrews 10:24-25 (NKJV) "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." And so, this is my: Twelve Things I Absolutely Love About Church!

  1. I love learning God’s Word
  2. I love to worship the Lord with others who love Him
  3. I love the presence of God
  4. I love meeting new people who are hungry to know God
  5. I love God’s people
  6. I love hearing testimonies of how God directed lives to Jesus
  7. I love to see children learning about the love of God
  8. I love to see people give their lives to Jesus Christ
  9. I love watching hearts lifted as the Holy Spirit speaks to them
  10. I love watching people grow up and mature in the Lord
  11. I love to see people’s gifting in action as they serve God
  12. I love to see lives transformed by the power of God’s Word

Coming together as the church is just a part of God's divine plan, protection, transformation, and help for us in life. If you don't have a church you love that teaches you that Jesus paid the price for your sin and that Heaven is a gift from Jesus that we could never earn, then pray and ask God to help you find one. Powerful life-changing things happen in a church that will help you live your life outside the church building to bring glory to Him!Ephesians 4:10-16 (NLT) "And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself. Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love."
