Fresh Mannaby Pastor Tim BurtThe other night, as Renee and I were having dinner, she commented, "Remember when we were newly married and had almost no furnishings for our home? Now, our house is overflowing with things we've outgrown or don't need. So be on notice! I am giving away and getting rid of as much of it as possible."Proverbs 24:3-4 (NIV) "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures." In these verses, when God is talking about rare and beautiful treasures, He is not talking about the furnishings of a physical home. He is talking about people—precious people we've chosen to love who add a unique and wonderful part to our lives. If you are a loner, you are unaware that God wants to fill your life with unique and beautiful relationships. Some might become best friends. They get you, and you get them. Others may like the same sports or hobbies or interests you do, and you have fun together. Others are great acquaintances you see week after week greeting you at church with a smile, hello, and maybe a big hug. Your Pastor may be that special gift that knows just how to speak into your life! Some may not have a large presence in your life but they provide that handshake, or hug, or smile as you walk into church. There are those fellow employees or business counterparts you love to talk to. There are your children that each add something different, beautiful, and precious to your life. There's the person that cuts your hair or makes your coffee or serves you at a local restaurant that knows you by name and makes you feel at home and even loved! These are the rare and beautiful treasures God is talking about! The world is very toxic right now. But our lives are rich when they are invested in people that we've chosen to see as rare and beautiful treasures, and we extend the love of God to them! Those are the rare and beautiful treasures God is talking about that make our home and your life rich in blessing!Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) "A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." In His love,Pastor Tim Burt
