Have you ever had something go wrong and thought, God must be punishing me? Or maybe someone told you, “God allows bad things to happen to teach us lessons.” Those thoughts sound religious, but they’re not from God. They’re whispers from Satan—the Bible calls him “the father of lies.” His nature is evil, and lying about God is what he does best.

Jesus Himself said of Satan: “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44 NIV).

From the beginning, Satan has worked to distort God’s character and turn people against Him. He wants you to believe God is angry, harsh, and out to hurt you. That lie has been the seed behind false religions, divisions between people, wars against God’s people, and ultimately, the rebellion of the last days.

The Bible tells us that in the end times, Satan will work through two world figures—the beast (also called the Antichrist) and the false prophet. They will deceive nations and rally armies to fight against God and Israel. But their end is already determined. Revelation says Jesus will return on a white horse, leading Heaven’s armies. He will defeat them, cast them into the lake of fire, and lock Satan himself in the bottomless pit (Revelation 19–20).

Why does this matter to you today? Because Satan uses the same lies in your personal life that he uses on the world stage. He whispers: God is against you. God is hurting you. God is done with you.

Don’t believe it. When trouble comes, it is not God punishing you. He is not against you—He is abundantly for you! Jesus said it plainly: “The thief (Satan) does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).

Does that mean God ignores sin? No. When we blow it, He does want us to repent and turn back to Him. But He doesn’t throw disasters, sickness, or hardship at us to teach us lessons. He draws us with His love. He restores us with His mercy. He transforms us with His Spirit.

God has already shown how deeply He is for you. He sent His Son Jesus to pay for your sins so you would never again have to wonder where you stand with Him. Romans 8:31 declares: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

That’s the truth Satan doesn’t want you to know. When you believe God is for you, you run to Him instead of away from Him. You let Him help, instruct, and bless you instead of living under guilt or fear. And the more you experience His goodness, the more you’ll echo the prophet Isaiah: “I will mention the loving kindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has bestowed on us” (Isaiah 63:7).

So the next time life gets tough and the devil whispers, God is against you, don’t listen. Remember the cross. Remember His promises. And remember this unshakable truth:

God is for you. Always.

Psalm 118:6 (NIV) “The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
