The world is filled with many geniuses. Yet, if these geniuses don’t know Jesus as the Savior of the world, there are things we know that they don’t. They develop new scientific discoveries, inventions, theories, and innovations that are exciting and fascinating. But in comparison to all that God knows and has created, even the greatest human discoveries are grossly crude and incomplete compared to all the Lord has created.
We see pins, plates, screws, and other parts replacing broken or deteriorating areas of the human body. Yet the human body is so miraculously and intricately designed that science could never fully replicate it. From nature to astronomy, science, and technology, even mankind’s best efforts remain crude, ever-changing, and far from grasping the mysteries of all that God has created.
Romans 1:20 NLT beautifully articulates this truth, saying, “From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see His invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.”
God is revealing Himself through creation. Failing to see His glory in it exposes one’s pride and ignorance. Science, when it refuses to acknowledge God, becomes an exercise in pride and ignorance. The enemy of our souls uses adversity to cause us to doubt God’s love, question His methods, and lose sight of His goodness. Job experienced this in his suffering. During his time of hardship, weakness, and discouragement, he—perhaps for the first time—began to question God’s love and everything he had believed and trusted about Him. His wife and friends only fueled these doubts. But God spoke to Job firmly yet lovingly, correcting his perspective and restoring his trust.
In Job 38:1-15, God responds powerfully: “Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind: ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Do you know how its dimensions were determined and who did the surveying? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? Who defined the boundaries of the sea as it burst from the womb, and as I clothed it with clouds and thick darkness? For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘Thus far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’ Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the east?”
The Lord said much more than this (you can read Job 38 in full), but the point is clear: the wisdom of man, even on his best day, is nothing compared to the wisdom of Almighty God—the One who is your Heavenly Father and who loves you so much that He sent Jesus as your Savior, Redeemer, and Helper.
Reading and meditating on the magnificence of God should elevate your faith in Him. Your present crisis carries no impossibilities or even struggle of effort for the One you declare you love and worship. Instead of being burdened with worry and cares, take David’s advice and do what he did:“
Publish His glorious deeds… Tell everyone about the amazing things He does.” (Psalm 96:3 NLT)
Think back to what God has done in your life. Retell the testimonies to others. Take time to talk with, thank, and worship Him for those things. Not only does it glorify God, but it also builds your faith as you reflect and speak of them. Go back and read the miracles of Jesus and all He did. Remember His words in Mark 9:23 NKJB, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” God is not a respecter of persons. Meditate on His omnipotence, and as you do, your faith will rise. Trust Him, and you will see His power at work in your life once again!
Psalm 27:13 NKJV “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
In His love,
