God Never Wants You Lost

There are moments in life when we feel utterly directionless—when our prayers sound something like, “Lord, I just don’t know what to do.” If you’ve ever felt that way, take heart. God delights in giving direction to those who seek Him. He doesn’t leave His children wandering aimlessly through life.

Psalm 103:7 (NIV) says, “He made known His ways to Moses, His deeds to the people of Israel.” What a promise! God made known His ways. He didn’t hide them behind a veil of mystery or reserve them for a spiritual elite. He revealed His heart, His character, and His plan so His people could walk confidently in them.

Why did He do that? So that we could learn who He truly is—and discover the life He’s called us to live. God’s commands and guidance are not burdens; they are pathways to blessing. Deuteronomy 30:19–20 (NIV) says, “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life… that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life.”

When we follow His ways, we find that His blessings aren’t random acts of kindness—they’re the natural fruit of walking in step with His will. And His deeds—those mighty miracles and wonders—remind us of how deeply He loves His people. Every act of deliverance and display of power was meant to build our faith and show us that He is both mighty and near.

But what about when you hit a wall? When confusion, pain, or fear cloud your vision? That’s when this truth matters most: the God of the universe wants to speak to you. He wants you to know His voice. Jesus reaffirmed this when He said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9–10, NIV)

God is not hiding. In fact, Acts 17:26–27 (NIV) tells us that He “determined the times set for [us] and the exact places where [we] should live… so that [we] would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.” He positioned your life precisely where it is so that you might discover Him right where you stand.

Why does He ask us to seek Him? Because seeking develops a heart of reverence and relationship. It teaches us to stand in awe of His power while drawing near to His tender love. When we seek Him, we find more than direction—we find intimacy with the Father who never wants us to be lost.

So pray. Open His Word. Tell Him you long to know His ways. The Holy Spirit will faithfully guide you like a divine GPS, leading you to truth, peace, and purpose. Isaiah 55:6 (NLT) urges us, “Seek the Lord while you can find Him. Call on Him now while He is near.” He’s closer than you think. And He loves to be found.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for never hiding from me. Help me to seek You daily with a sincere heart. Teach me Your ways and guide my steps so I may walk in the path of Your blessing and peace. Reveal Your heart through Your Word and help me hear Your voice clearly, especially when life feels uncertain. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
