He’ll Help You…More Than You Know! By Renee Burt

Something happened this morning that I just have to write about. So forgive the break in my mini-series. I’ll be back to do some “watering” of what we’ve been talking about tomorrow. Many of you know that the Lord helped me make some major lifestyle changes last September. I had found out my cholesterol was close to 200, and I really wanted to bring it down. So I asked the Lord to be my personal trainer, and help me do what I had never been able to do consistently before…to exercise! So, I began exercising five times a week, along with making changes in my diet. I can honestly say there was hardly a day my flesh didn’t want to rebel, but I learned to tell my body what to do…all the while, God was helping me. Well, this morning I went in for another cholesterol test. I was both nervous and excited to see the results. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait long to hear the news…that my cholesterol had dropped a full 37 points, down to 162. To say I was excited would be an understatement. Not just because of what the exercise and dietary changes had made…but because of the changes God has made in me – the real me – over these past months. I have a new revelation that He truly will help us do whatever we haven’t been able to do on our own. He isn’t shaking His finger at you in disappointment at what you haven’t done that He’s told you to do. Instead, He is forever extending His hand of grace to you, in love, wanting to help you, to strengthen you, to encourage you! What have you struggled to do on your own, but you haven’t been able to do. He’ll help you…if you stop feeling condemned about it, but instead trust Him to help you!!! If you don’t believe me, read today’s verse for yourself…and believe Him!

Proverbs 3:5-7 MSG ~ Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!
