Have you ever lain awake at night, wondering about what the future holds? That can be a wonderful way to spend some sleepless hours if what you’re wondering about looks hopeful, exciting and promising. But what about those times when that wondering could be more accurately described as worrying. It could be for any number of reasons. Maybe the doctor has given you a questionable report about your health…or maybe your company is downsizing and your job (or your spouse’s or child’s) seems less than secure…or maybe you’re in a relationship that has been rocky lately…or maybe you’ve got a difficult decision to make that will potentially alter your life for the good or bad, depending on what you decide. And so your thoughts have been swirling around in your mind, leaving you angst-ridden and worn out. Well, here’s a simple piece of advice for you this morning if that’s you…don’t think! It’s a two word sentence I’ve repeated to myself countless times over the past few years, since the Lord led me to teach a message on it one time. Don’t think! Does that mean you walk around in a mindless stupor? No, it means to get out of your head and slip on over into your heart, where you know that despite what it looks like, God has a plan for your life…so quit thinking so much, and start trusting Him to work it all out! He knows what He’s doing…and you don’t ever have to wonder or worry about that!
Jeremiah 29:11 MSG ~ I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.
