Have you thought about and do you have faith that God and His angelic forces are working behind the scenes in your life to help you experience victory? If not, you want to. Deut. 28:7 reveals God’s promised blessing, “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways.”

When we read in our Bible about David, we realize that he was a man that had his seasons of hardship, but also had a life filled with many great victories. Some of his hardships were a product of his flawed humanity in the same way some of ours are from our flawed humanity. Others were attacks of the enemy against his life. Although David had some difficult seasons of life, he had a life filled with many victories that came at the hand of God by the grace of God. Understand that David’s victories were a part of God’s covenant promises to him and that God was there over the process of David’s life helping him win these victories. God and His angelic forces were involved in the unseen realms of David’s life and battles.

David’s success was primarily the result paying attention to and having faith in God’s leading and being obedient to the Lord. David loved God and did his best to live out each day expecting God to bless him and help him defeat the enemies of his life. The Bible says, “IN THE COURSE OF TIME, David defeated the Philistines” and dominated his enemies.God is with us

David was involved in many battles, but his confidence was not in himself. His confidence and faith were in God’s promise to help him. He always believed God would help him. Consequently, his enemies either disappeared, were defeated, or actually turned to follow, appreciate, and love him and his leadership. Some of David’s enemies ended up becoming his friends AND ended up bringing him tribute. David’s victories always brought him increase. This was the manifestation of promises made to David and his seed. Through faith we are his seed. These are promises to us also. (Galatians 3:29)

Our lives are intertwined with God. We are doing our part and God is faithful to His part. As a matter of fact, I can tell you what your testimony will be one day when you experience your victories and look back. You will say, “There were so many times where I wasn’t as faithful as I should have been, but God was always faithful—Always!” That’s the point! You can trust God because He is faithful to you even when you miss it with Him.

promises of GodNot everyone seeks God for the things that would cause them to inherit these promised blessings of victory and tribute. God wants to be with us and He wants His promises to become ours. Jesus paid the highest price possible just so we could succeed for His glory, but we do have a part. First we have to believe. We have to believe that He is with us, that He is for us, and that He has given these promises to us as a source of supernatural provision and help in this earthly life. We have to be confident that He is working in and through us and in the behind-the-scenes of our life. Bumps in the road and setbacks cannot be allowed to become disqualifiers of our faith. Hopelessness has to be cast out. Our declaration of God being faithful and true to His promises in our life needs to spill from our mouth in prayer and daily conversation—and DESPITE any bleak picture the enemy works to paint through negative circumstances. Believe me, David had plenty of them.

I remember many times where I felt that I had a personally failed God by making some fleshly choices. How could I think of God blessing me? Look at how I had been acting. Look what I had been doing. God couldn’t possibly bless me. He is probably letting my enemies defeat me! Of course the devil was right there to affirm my failure and accuse me saying that God saw me as hard-hearted and a hopeless case. That was a lie. I may have failed God in the moment but I loved Him and was determined to do better. In times like that, you have to believe that God is bigger than your momentary mistake or bad choice. He is. I just made sure I was quick to sincerely repent and work harder to do better. But it’s only Jesus that could live and walk out perfect obedience to the Father. For me it’s going to be far more imperfect. But the shed blood of Jesus Christ had made me righteous and qualified me for God’s love and blessing despite my shortcomings.

God qualifiesAs we try to walk out our walk with God the best we can, we have to believe that He can and will accomplish greater and greater things through us. We have to believe He will help defeat the demonic forces that come against us. Declare it! “I bind you Satan and every demonic attack you have launched against me, against my family, and against our finances. I take authority over you and command you to flee.” When this is our position in Him—when you will be committed to it and you will not be wavering in it—then you will begin to experience the covenant promise of victories over negative circumstances because of your faith in God working on your behalf. Believe that what the devil meant for evil, God will turn for good. Believe the promise that says “though your enemies (the devil) comes against you one way, he must flee seven ways.” Believe that the things he has stolen from you will come back with blessing and increase. David always got tribute: what He took back from the enemy when his battles were won.

Remember that God and His angelic hosts are responding to your faith in His promises and are working behind the scenes toward your victories. You may have setbacks in your life, but as God’s child, victories and tribute belongs to you!

1 Chr 18:6 “David put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and BROUGHT TRIBUTE. The Lord gave David VICTORY everywhere he went.”
