Fresh Mannaby Pastor Tim BurtIf you truly know Jesus—really know Him—then you understand that when you read Scripture, it is never written to condemn you. Instead, it reveals God’s love, His plan, and the incredible destiny He has for you through Jesus Christ. The Bible shows us that God is mighty, holy, merciful, compassionate, and filled with attributes that only belong to Him as God. It also reminds us that we have a real adversary who seeks to destroy us and lead us to Hell. But more importantly, it tells us about Jesus, our Savior, whom God sent to rescue us and offer us the promise of eternal life in Heaven. That promise isn’t just for the future! Jesus left us His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth, free us from the bondage of sin, and bless us in this life today. The Bible, God’s Word, sets boundaries—not to take away our joy, but to protect us from the evil in this broken world. It is written to guide us, not condemn us.This truth includes the verses in Revelation 3:17-19 (NLT), which say: You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realize that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. And also buy white garments so you will not be shamed by your nakedness. And buy ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see. I am the one who corrects and disciplines everyone I love. Be diligent and turn from your indifference.”“These verses remind us that worldly pleasures and self-sufficiency can leave us wretched, miserable, poor, and blind to God’s truth. Instead, we are called to seek the riches of God—the pure and lasting treasures that come from Him. God’s correction is an act of love, opening our eyes to see life through His perspective. When we listen, we avoid becoming indifferent to our purpose and discover the true richness of life in Christ.Life isn’t about turning your days into a pleasure cruise or securing yourself from every hardship. It’s good to have goals, but if those goals consume your life, they can make you indifferent to the needs of others. A life centered on God is about people. When you let your light shine before others, when you reach the lost, and when you touch lives through prayer, compassion, and acts of kindness, your life gains eternal value.Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)reminds us: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”Indifference—focusing solely on yourself—leads to an empty, lonely life. It makes you spiritually poor and blind. But when your life revolves around loving and helping others, you’ll never feel empty. Even if your needs are met, the world around you is full of people facing illness, financial struggles, broken relationships, or spiritual dryness. God doesn’t ask you to carry the weight of these burdens, but He does call you to love, pray, and offer what help you can. This is what sincere Christianity looks like. The "gold tried in the fire" mentioned in Revelation is this: moving beyond receiving Jesus as your Savior to living out your faith by loving others. Ask the Lord today, “Who can I pray for? Whose life can I touch?” Let Him show you how to bring His love to the world around you. This is Christianity in its fullness—the true riches of life. It’s how we fulfill our calling as Christians. As Jesus said in John 13:35 (NIV): “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”So today, receive the richness of God’s love—and share it. That is the life God created you to live!In His love,Pastor Tim Burt
