Do you love to be inspired? I do! I love hearing stories of people who accomplish amazing things. Inspiration fuels hope stirs vision and propels us forward. We all need it! It’s why I continually go back to God’s Word, reading about those who were pillars of faith. Their lives inspire me to walk with God, to trust Him every step of the way, and to live a life that truly matters to the plan of God!When you think of King David, you can’t help but see a man of great faith, adventure, and passion for God. From the time he was a boy, David pursued the Lord. He studied the words of those who came before him, learning what Moses had declared: “O Lord GOD, You have begun to show your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds?” (Deuteronomy 3:24 NKJV).
David took those words to heart. He didn’t just learn about God—he believed Him. And because he believed, he walked out his calling with faith and trust. He was confident that God would always be there to direct, guide, and bless him in whatever he put his hand to for the Lord. As that how you think? Yes, David had moments of despair, but he never let despair take root. He allowed God’s Word to rise within him, replacing fear with faith and uncertainty with trust.
People who passionately love God, as David did, often accomplish great and mighty things. Scripture tells us, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself mighty on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2 Chronicles 16:9 NKJV). The things God does through a person of great faith may not always be noticed by the world, but God sees them. He does not forget! Hebrews 6:10 (NIV) reminds us: “God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.”
David longed to accomplish much for God—and he did. Yet even in his final days, Satan still opposed him, stirring up trouble, trying to place the wrong man on Israel’s throne instead of his son, Solomon. But David didn’t panic. He spoke words of unwavering faith: “
As surely as the LORD lives, who has delivered me out of every trouble…” (1 Kings 1:29).
What powerful words to come from a man who had faced battles, betrayal, and hardship yet had seen God’s hand of deliverance time and time again. David had lived a lifetime of God’s faithfulness, and looking back, he could declare:
“The salvation of the righteous comes from the LORD; He is their stronghold in time of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him” (Psalm 37:39-40).And again, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His descendants begging bread” (Psalm 37:25 NKJV).
Satan will always try to create despair in our lives, but God is always ready to inspire our hearts through the faith of those who have gone before us. Despair will knock on your door again and again—but what will you do in those moments? If you allow God’s Word and His faithful ones to stir your heart, that despair will be replaced with renewed faith and trust. What God did for them, He will do for you! That kind of faith and trust leads to a life of significance and purpose—and, before you know it, your life may be the very inspiration someone else needs. Glory to God! That's why I love to be inspired!
Jeremiah 32:38 & 40 (NIV) "They will be my people, and I will be their God... I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear (reverence) me, so that they will never turn away from Me."
